Syllabus 1998

This Syllabus is effective till Fall-2006.

The study programme of ICMAP is divided into six stages, namely: Foundation-I, Foundation-II, Professional-I, Professional-II, Professional-III, and Professional-IV. Each stage consists of four courses of study, with the exception of Foundation-II stage, which consists of three courses only. The total number of courses to be studied during the entire study programme are twenty-three (23) in all.
 
The above is in conformity with the requirements of the international standard setting bodies of the profession, such as International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and
International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). The syllabus of the Institute is upgraded on regular basis.  It is competitive with the syllabi of other comparable professional bodies in Pakistan, in the region and in the world. The syllabus is also responsive to the needs of the employer in Pakistan, as qualified members are trained to contribute value to their organizations. More importantly, the syllabus is designed and adjusted keeping the needs our students, and the educational resources we have. The syllabus is also responsive to the changes taking place in the sphere of information technology (IT) and other external factors influencing and revolutionizing the way business is done.
 

The syllabus provides students with a structured framework of the course of study for preparing them to qualify the examinations of the Institute.
 
It provides the Institute with adequate guidelines for training the students and examining their calibre, potential and in-depth knowledge in the prescribed subjects.
 
Also it provides the prospective members with a basis of applicable professional knowledge and skills enabling them to practice as management accountants, financial advisors, auditors and management consultants under various business environments.
 
The syllabus also guides the prospective members to have appropriate applicable knowledge and skills to effectively function as part of top management team in business, trade and industry and ultimately rise to the position of Chief Executive.
